Joseph Bartholomew Andrew Conlon

continued from previous slide

My relationship with Joe took a significant turn (for the better) after I experienced a dramatic health experience, with a blood clot in the back of my eye. Several doctors diagnosed the condition as a Central Retinal Vein Occlusion, which left me with significant vision loss in my left eye. I was devastated and frightened that it would happen in my other eye and that I would be blind.

During that trying period, Joe spent time with me, driving me to and from eye doctor appointments. He even drove me down to Baltimore, Maryland, where I got the same diagnosis from a nationally recognized retina specialist at John Hopkin's University. Joe's sensitive side really came through for me at a time when I was really low and I will always be grateful for his help. The experience made us closer, although he is too proud to admit it, but it really did show me his dear soul. I love him.
