Marie Quinzer Peters

The woman on the left is Marie Quinzer (maiden name), my great grandmother, and my niece's and nephew's great, great grandmother.  Marie is the mother of Helen Peters Scully (on the right), my grandmother, and my niece's and nephew's great grandmother.

Both of these women must have been very special.  I didn't know my great grandmother at all, but believe it or not -- she helped me through my own father's passing.

I have rosary beads from Marie, that my parents gave to me.  I held them the whole time that Dad was dying. I didn't know it, but when the whole experience was over, meaning Dad's death, she spoke to me.  No, not with words, but I knew she was there. And she let me know that Dad was happy.

Marie is pictured in the very old painting that hangs in my Mom's  living room.  She was just a little girl then, sitting with her brother Carl Quinzer.

Marie is also photographed on the left, with her husband and my great grandfather Charles S. Peters.
